A couple weeks back I posted about my New Year’s Resolutions, and you may have noticed that I left off one of the most popular resolutions– getting organized. It’s not that I’m super organized all the time, but I like to think I’m moderately organized. Well maybe kind of sporadically organized.

This is how I have worked ever since I can remember. Things  spin out of control, I go crazy, and, in a fit of anxiety, I put everything back the way it’s supposed to go vowing never to let it get out of hand again. Until it does. And then the cycle begins again. In the past year or so, though, (thanks to the help of pharmaceuticals) I’ve been able to let things slide and (mostly) calmly put them back the way they ought to be. It’s still sporadic, but without all the horrible crazy-making anxiety.

A side effect of my new zen outlook on life has been a decrease in the level of organization I had before. As a result, sometimes I find myself kind of lost. You see, I’m the kind of person who likes lists and plans. Without them, everything just kind of floats around there in my head and many things get lost in the shuffle. Therefore, here I am now, making a list, getting my thoughts organized.

I have made myself some goals this year, aside from my resolutions. Some are specific projects, and some are more general goals. I will definitely continue to add to the list, but I hope for now it will help me to get things out of the ether and into reality. In no particular order:

  • Put the finishing touches on Memaw’s apple afghan
  • Viking hat for Lex
  • Awesome birthday cake for Anthony
  • Science Craft Swap
  • Hem ALL the pants!
  • Convert dress into skirt
  • Lex’s room
  • Build at least one thing from ana-white.com
  • Make something festive for each holiday
  • Make curtains for the living room
  • Finish the spooky dollhouse
  • Make a quilt
  • A year of handmade gifts
  • One Pinterest project a month
  • Make more cute things with felt & embroidery
  • Improve photography skills
  • Stockpile handmade gifts
  • Become a better cook
  • Make more miniature things
  • Make steampunk costumes for me, Vincent and Lex

My hope is that each week I will look at this list and actively work toward at least one of the goals. That way I am always feeling productive and I always have something to share with you.

Can’t wait to get started!
